Prepare
Open the pack carefully and take out the thread and needle.

Load
Grip the needle with a needle holder, about one-third to halfway from the swaged end. Never hold it by hand.

Insert
Place the needle at a right angle to the practice pad or model and follow its natural curve through the material.

Pull through
Pull the thread through, leaving a short tail.

Tie
Secure the stitch using square knots with an instrument tie or hand tie, then cut the thread ends.

Continue practising the required stitch pattern, such as interrupted or continuous stitches.
